Tulle for Today

One of the things that I NEED hanging in my Closet in 2012 is a Tulle skirt (A.K.A. Carrie Bradshaw). I will wear it with vintage Rock-n-Roll tees and tank tops. Flip Flops or Heels…. the possibilities are endless. I have multiple pairing options already in my wardrobe (and in my mind), so really, it would be an investment piece!!

I even bought one for Josie for Christmas (the Little Diva!!)

Lime and Chocolate Brown

The other day Toffee to Go was delivered to my office. While the Toffee itself was delicious, I was completely smitten with the box that it came in!

Lime Green and Chocolate Brown wrapped with a brown silk bow.

Instantly I became obsessed with this color combination!! I began imagining how to incorporate these two colors into my everyday life: Josie’s bedroom, clothes, my accessories etc.

Heck, I even craved a Lime Popsicle (my attempt at humor!):

What is not to love about a Lime and Brown Fendi shoe?!?!?!

I think I will crochet a Chocolate Brown and Lime Green Scarf this weekend… what do you think??

How do you feel about these colors in combination? Any other ideas for me to try????

Have an Ah-Mazing Weekend…. the countdown to Christmas begins!!

All Things Princess

When I grow up, I want to be a Princess!! The little girl inside of me still wants the Fairy Tale ending with Prince Charming, a castle and closets full of fluffy dresses and sparkling shoes!! While life hasn’t always been perfect, I have never lost the dream of wearing a Tiara and riding off on a White Horse.

I’ve come to realize that the road to the Castle is actually paved by the Princess herself. If we sit on our bottoms all day long and wait for “Prince Charming” to come along, we will miss all of the Exciting Adventures that life holds for us. WE are the masters (or rather mistresses) of our OWN destiny. Actually, I love how Carrie Bradshaw put it: “I don’t need a Diamond, just get me a really BIG closet!”

Never Stop Dreaming… and Work Hard to Achieve those Dreams!!

Even my three year old daughter LOVES to dress up like a Princess!
“Perhaps all the dragons of our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us once beautiful and brave.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Josie would dress like a Princess everyday if she could…

Until Prince Charming comes along… there are always Cupcakes!! (Images via Pinterest)

Enjoy Your Very Princess Wednesday!!!

Chicken and Tomato Mac-N-Cheese

Chicken and Tomato Mac-N-Cheese – Fast, Easy and Cheap

About the middle of the work week, I am so frazzled by the time I get home that the LAST thing I want to do is start cooking. However, my almost three year old daughter can’t live on yogurt and granola bars (as I might if left to my own devices!) so I have to get creative sometimes. I’m tempted to do pizza, pizza, pizza, chicken nuggets and then leftover pizza. But instead, I try to give her (and me!) SOMETHING somewhat kinda-sorta-maybe nutritional.

Last night I came home and began searching through my cupboards, hoping some sort of INSPIRATION would JUMP OUT at me. I saw Mac-n-Cheese, some canned veggies, and a can of chicken. I decided just combine a few things and eat the result, no matter. The result was actually incredibly delicious! Maybe the fact that my daughter was watching Ratatoulli in the background helped my inner chef come out. Ok, so it’s not the MOST nutritional meal of all time… but it’s fast, easy and cheap. On a Wednesday night, I am ok with those three things!

Here is my dinner creation masterpiece:

What you need:

1 box of Mac-N-Cheese (I used Velveta because it’s my favorite)

1 12.5 oz, can of chicken breast in water – (Hormel)

½ can petite diced tomatoes (Add the whole can if you really like tomatoes!)

**Cook Mac-N-Cheese as directed on the box. Add chicken and tomatoes. The end.

~Actually you can modify the recipe any way you like to fit your family’s tastes. I sprinkled crushed Red Pepper and Dill Weed on top of mine (the Lil Munchkin ate hers plain) and it was absolutely divine. I couldn’t stop eating it! I even got seconds. Thankfully there was enough left over to eat for lunch today!!!

TOP FIVE (May 3rd, 2010)

Here are my Top Five for this week:

1. Castle on ABC…. Love the Show, Love the Actor!

2. Manicure Monday!!! There is something absolutely addicting about starting your week with fresh, chip free nails! It’s like having a clean slate… on your nails!

3. Rachel Zoe’s Ah-Mazing book! I re-read my copy whenever I need inspiration or motivation! I am reading it again this week :)

4. Hearing my two-year-old Josie say “I love you Mommy!” for the first time on the telephone tonight! Her Daddy taught her that to say to me while she is with him. Too cute!

5.  Working on sketches for my fashion ideas. I love to draw clothing…. its my outlet!

Josie’s Second Birthday Party

Josie’s second Birthday party was a success!! Even though I was feeling a little under the weather everything went smooth and fun! My wonderful mother was visiting from L.A. (that is Lower Alabama for those of us living in the South!) and she was such an Ah-Mazing help in getting everything in order! The little “princesses” that attended were sooooo adorable! What a Blast!! I am thinking of doing a Star Wars Theme for her THIRD Birthday Party!!

Love and Adoration…

Of course if you like your kids, if you love them from the moment they begin, you yourself begin all over again, in them, with them, and so there is something more to the world again.”  William Saroyan

I never knew what true love actually was until I met my Daughter. She is my World, my Joy, my Laughter AND my Tears, my Love, my Life and the reason that I strive to become a better person each and every day!!
