Frugal Friday – Celeb Look for Less

Seattle weather is fickle. Freezing in the morning, tolerable in the afternoon, pitch-black and windy/rainy on way home. I have learned to dress in layers and be prepared for anything. For today's Look for Less I would like to highlight the Shorts & Tights combination on Miranda Kerr:

**On Miranda: Isabel Marant Coat (here), Boots (here), Givenchy Bag (here)**

What better way to layer than with Tights, Shorts, Boots and a fabulous Coat?!?!

Look For Less: Miranda Kerr

Mango sweat shirt / Vero Moda , $86 / H&M , $32 / Diane von Furstenberg opaque tight / London Rebel black boots, $64 / Christian Dior lip stick

Would YOU wear Shorts & Tights together? Tell me why or why not....

Have a Fab Weekend Lovelies!

1.What is currently in your Makeup bag?Dr. Jart+ Beauty Balm, Cle da Peau Concealer, Make Up For Ever Face & Body, MAC, Becca and Benefit blushes, YSL Touche Eclat, Bdellium Brushes, Shu Uemura Lash Curler, Diptyque Smoothing Lip Balm2.What Make-Up trends would you endorse for Fall/Winter? I'm loving the Bordeaux lip trend. It works on every skin tone and can be applied as a stain with a bit of color and a balm or full coverage with a long wear lipstick.Skin is always something I'm focused on and I am happy to see the dewy, healthy look is still a must. Nothing over done or too thick.Smokey eyes in browns and deep jewel tones like green and blue are another fun trend that can be played around with by using a liner smudged into the lash line (if you're nervous about trying colors), or varying shades of the color you love blended into a gorgeous full smokey eye. Be sure to give the eye a pop of shine in the corner of the eyes if you do a full smokey look!

3.What is your Go-To beauty routine? I'm pretty simple with my own beauty routine. Definitely half my makeup bag is committed to good, clean skin, balm on the lips, defined brow, lots of mascara and I'm a sucker for blushes :-) If I'm going out, I love a nice smokey plumy greige.4.How did you get started in the Beauty Industry? It's hard to believe now, but I actually did some modeling for a few commercial and bridal clients back in the day. I'd always been fascinated with beauty ads and editorials and after several gentle nudges from friends and photographers I worked with, I gave into my obsession and gave makeup and hair a professional try!. :-) It wasn't a difficult decision to make and I very quickly and excitedly immersed myself into the industry! I started in a small midwest town and eventually moved myself to NYC to continue pursuing what I know will be the most exciting and rewarding days of my career.

Christian Dior Spring 2012 Couture

Ever since I was a little girl and watched the movie Mrs. ‘Arris goes to Paris I have wanted to own/wear a Dior dress. The Spring 2012 Couture Collection from Dior was absolutely breathtaking. Channeling 1950′s Grace Kelly Glamour, the dresses ranged from sheer Housewife apparel to swooping Red Carpet worthy gowns. It was a step back in time to watch.

Here are my Favorite pieces from the collection:

Remember When…

When I came across this picture, I sighed with longing. The Yves St Laurent hobble skirt, circa 1959, along with the woman wearing it, embodies everything that I long to be: Lady-like, carefree, flirty and classic. I adore the fashion of the 1950′s. Dior revalutionized fashion with his accent of the feminine figure and tons of fabric. The designer’s of the day knew how to display a woman’s body with elegance and grace.
Whenever I look at photos from yester-year, I imagine myself in them. I pretend in my mind that I am Grace Kelly, waltzing into a party in a peach silk cocktail dress, turning the heads of everyman from nine to ninety. Grace Kelly only slighty naughty. That would be me…
