Overcoming My Lace Phobia

I need to confess something: I have a Lace-Phobia. It’s true! Let me explain…

When I was a teenager, my mother had a small home-based business making lacy-teddy bears in wicker chairs. It’s true. We spent hours with hot glue guns, strategically gluing strands of lace and ribbon onto stuffed bears. My mother sold the Bears-in-Chairs at craft shows and in gift shops. Believe it or not, the bears were actually quite popular at the time (it was the mid-nineties after-all).

Ever since that time, years ago, I have associated Lace with Things-You-Find-In-A-Little-Old-Grannie’s-House, not at all something that I would want to put on my body and wear where people could see me!!

However, the time has come for me to face my Phobia and overcome it once and for all!!! (I am brave!!)

OK, here goes…

This lace shirt is very chic, love it with the denim shorts and cross necklace!: (hhhmm… it is actually quite nice!)

Vintage Dress… Gorgeous! (Ok, I am starting to warm up to the idea a little)
Where Did U Get That

Sexy Black Lace: (Uhhmm… YES PLEASE!)

Lace Couture (Balenciaga Spring 2006):
I Dream of a World of Couture

Lace Jacket: (With Polka-Dots!!)

Sultry Lace: (this is what I am thinking is needed to get over my fear… Me, decked in lace, staring out at the City lights)

Tomorrow’s Goal: Go Buy Something in Lace!!!

Next Goal: Wear it with Confidence!

Wish me Luck Lovelies!!!

Camo Chic

This past weekend I went Deer Hunting. Actually, to be precise, I went Deer “Watching”… Someone else did the hunting part.

I loved seeing the sunrise, hearing the birds chirping and puppies barking from a nearby farm. I sipped my thermos of Sugar Free Vanilla Coffee and snuggled into my head-to-toe Camouflage jumpsuit.

Yes, it was a beautiful morning to remember. Ok, so the deer shooting part was not my favorite, but otherwise it was very peaceful and relaxing!

Mustard Trends

I have always loved Mustard.

As a child, I ate mustard on almost everything (almost like I eat Hot Wings Sauce on everything now…but I digress). In college, I toted my books around in a mustard-colored bowling bag from a thrift store. Currently, I have a mustard colored, wood frame couch in my living room (my Mother found it on Craigslist for $40!!) as seen here in a previous post.

I am drooling over the mustard colored trends in everything from clothing to shoes to nail polish!! It is THE perfect color for Autumn, in my own personal opinion.

Loving the Mustard Trend this Fall!!

I NEED this Coat for Winter 2011:

My world would be complete with a Mustard Car!!

Sunday Clothes Planning

Sundays are usually my day of un-rest. I clean the house, organize drawers, do laundry, take a nap (ok, that is rest), take the trash out and whatever else needs to be done that has accumulated over the past week. I try to do whatever I can to make Monday morning run a little more smoothly. Too often I am running late on Monday mornings as it is…. my body gets a little too cozy sleeping in on the weekends and resists getting up!!

A few weeks ago I purchased a handy dandy Garment Rack from Wal-mart (my closet was getting a little cramped!).

It is a LIFESAVER!!
I hang up all my outfits for the week (Jewelry and shoes included). Viola! No more scrambling to find clean trousers at 6:00am! It is SUCH a timesaver having everything right in front of me in the morning. What are your time-saving tips?

This Week:

Shoes – Such a VITAL part of my outfit!!

This would be my Fantasy Closet…. (it’s Paris Hilton’s!!)
