Just Another Mani Monday

With my “Day Job” being at a fast-paced Nail Polish start-up (Julep), I have the pleasure of seeing all kinds of Fabulous Mani/Pedi combos! I have become the girl who changes her polish every other day (yes, that’s me!) because there are just TOO MANY colors that I want/need to try! Almost as soon as my Mani dries I spot a new color/creme/matte/glitter that I simply MUST try. To say that I am becoming an addict might be somewhat of an understatement.

In honor of Mani Monday, here are a few of my recent Nail Findings.

Enjoy the Inspiration!

1.What is currently in your Makeup bag?Dr. Jart+ Beauty Balm, Cle da Peau Concealer, Make Up For Ever Face & Body, MAC, Becca and Benefit blushes, YSL Touche Eclat, Bdellium Brushes, Shu Uemura Lash Curler, Diptyque Smoothing Lip Balm2.What Make-Up trends would you endorse for Fall/Winter? I'm loving the Bordeaux lip trend. It works on every skin tone and can be applied as a stain with a bit of color and a balm or full coverage with a long wear lipstick.Skin is always something I'm focused on and I am happy to see the dewy, healthy look is still a must. Nothing over done or too thick.Smokey eyes in browns and deep jewel tones like green and blue are another fun trend that can be played around with by using a liner smudged into the lash line (if you're nervous about trying colors), or varying shades of the color you love blended into a gorgeous full smokey eye. Be sure to give the eye a pop of shine in the corner of the eyes if you do a full smokey look!

3.What is your Go-To beauty routine? I'm pretty simple with my own beauty routine. Definitely half my makeup bag is committed to good, clean skin, balm on the lips, defined brow, lots of mascara and I'm a sucker for blushes :-) If I'm going out, I love a nice smokey plumy greige.4.How did you get started in the Beauty Industry? It's hard to believe now, but I actually did some modeling for a few commercial and bridal clients back in the day. I'd always been fascinated with beauty ads and editorials and after several gentle nudges from friends and photographers I worked with, I gave into my obsession and gave makeup and hair a professional try!. :-) It wasn't a difficult decision to make and I very quickly and excitedly immersed myself into the industry! I started in a small midwest town and eventually moved myself to NYC to continue pursuing what I know will be the most exciting and rewarding days of my career.

A Hair-y Mess!

I have come to the conclusion that I desperately NEED to try a new hairstyle…or several. My long, curly red hair is usually down and a wild mess, or up in a sloppy bun! I need to be more creative that than! Blame it on my snooze button or sheer laziness in the mornings.

I found several hairstyles that I think I could pull off without a lot of effort. Starting tomorrow of course…today its still my usual sloppy bun look.

What Hairstyle should I try tomorrow???

Tie Dye Nails = Groovy!!

Another trend I cannot wait to try is the Tie Dye Nails!

I have had the classic french tips for as long as I can remember but I am itching to branch out and try something new and dun for summer! The process seems a little long… so I will plan it for a night when I can watch the SATC marathon that has been accumulating on my DVR!

Knock out two things at once! I like it!!

Tail Feathers Part 2

Can I just say that I am enamored with the hair feather obsession this season! I love, Love, LOVE this look! While I was in West Palm Beach two weekends ago, I had the privilege of watching the stylist “feather-up” the girl in front of me! She picked out which colors she wanted, and told the stylish exactly where to place them. She looked Ah-Mazing in the end – Sexy and Sassy! Oh, how I wish I had my camera with me at the time!!

I cannot WAIT to try this look out for myself!

Kate Bosworth

Kate Bosworth is my Icon for simple, chic, summer style. She always looks effortlessly flawless under the California sun.

I wonder what her Beauty secrets are….

Here are some of my Favorites for Summer (I absolutely LIVE for Falsies Mascara!!):

Bailiwick

Bailiwick – noun: A person’s area of expertise or interest.

Fashion and Beauty are my bailiwicks! (Although, I would not consider myself to be an “expert” by any means.)

“There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.” ~ Maria Mitchell

“There are no better cosmetics than a severe temperance and purity, modesty and humility, a gracious temper and calmness of spirit; and there is no true beauty without the signatures of these graces in the very countenance.” ~ Arthur Helps
